I hand dyed all the yarn on the outside, and used a hand spindle to make the thinker yarn for the lower part of the hat to warm the ears. Since wool can cause itching for many people, I used a single ply acrylic yarn to line the inside of the hat and sewed it in in along the stitching of the hat. | 32 | Grounds, Kelsey | 4132 | This Quilt was created with my Nana. I first created twenty five drawings representing me and the things I love for the quilt. Designs included friends, fairies, seasons, holidays and even my drawing that was in the Mason Co. Journal. I then laid out the drawings to create a design. My Nana scanned the drawings and printed them on fabric. Next, my Nana gave me sewing lessons and I was able to sew all the seams together. She taught me how to iron the seams to help the fabric line up. After we finished the quilt Nana washed it and unfortunately, a lot of the colors disappeared and turned to yellow. Luckily, Nana got new fabric markers and I recolored all of the twenty five squares to make it come back to life.
